SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY at Applewoods. Everything we do, from how you first enter the property, to how you leave the property, and everything in between, is deliberately structured for your safety, your dog's safety and the safety of other students/dogs. PLEASE FOLLOW OUR INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY SO WE CAN KEEP EVERYONE AND EVERY DOG SAFE.
We will be bringing each of you through the double gates...one student/dog at a time...to be outfitted by one of our Applewoods staff, with an appropriate sized training collar and a 6' leather leash. Once outfitted with safe dog training equipment, you will be directed on where to go, how to get there, and what to do when you get there. Weather permitting, we will have all classes outside. Extra family members are welcome when classes are held outside. IF/WHEN the weather is awful, classes will be downstairs in our training studio and extra family members CAN NOT attend due to limited seating.
You will then be escorted into the chair and given specific instructions concerning how to situate your dog/the leash and etc. Your chair will have a clipboard with your Application, your Survey, and instructions on your 1st training exercise - the Long Down which your dog will be doing immediately.
Please be prepared to be outside for the last 1/2 hour of the first class.. Dress appropriately for the weather, have on shoes you can safely run in like tennis shoes, and have on long pants with belt loops. Same dress code for anyone on Applewoods property applies including extra family members. Thanks...hoping it doesn't rain as if it does we still will be doing 1/2 the lesson outside in the rain.
See you all soon! :)
